About Japan Spot

Christopher
I lived in Japan for a while and I go back whenever I can. Since becoming a dad, I don't travel there the same way: alone or as a couple you improvise and it works out; with kids, everything has to be planned. Japan Spot grew out of a community of travellers sharing their trips: spotters validate, I sort through it, and I keep only the advice that actually helps. Planning a trip or a working holiday? Let's talk.
The method: a spotter behind every page
A spotter is a traveller who actually went. They pushed the door open, read the times on the sign, paid the real price and took the bus we recommend. Every guide follows the same rule: opening times, prices and access are validated by a spotter or against official sources, and every page carries the stamp of the month it was validated. If a fact cannot be validated, it is not published.
Become a spotter
Japan changes faster than one person can cover it: times shift, prices rise, a spot becomes unbearable at noon. So Japan Spot is written by several hands. Just back from a trip? Share what you found, fix what has changed, and help the next traveller. Your name appears on the spots you validate. Write tocontact@japan-spot.com and let's talk.
How the site is funded
Japan Spot is independent: transparent affiliate links (booking through them supports the site at no extra cost) and the travel planner service.
